Charlie Maher
Charlie Maher is an emerging Irish actor, recently gaining critical recognition for his role as Donal “Fogerty” in the BAFTA Award winning BBC crime drama, BLUE LIGHTS. Maher portrays a ruthless enforcer tied to Belfast’s criminal underworld—a performance in which the Times highlighted as “brilliantly vile” with a “sinister charisma.” Beyond Blue Lights, Maher has built a varied screen résumé, including roles in CONVERSATIONS WITH FRIENDS, BLACK NARCISSUS, and films such as ALL YOU NEED IS DEATH and TEN DATES. He has also been recognized as one of The Irish Times’ “talent to watch,” reflecting his growing profile in the industry.
Charlie trained at The Lir Academy, where he performed in a wide range of classical and contemporary productions before moving to London, where he quickly booked the role of ‘Spike’ in VANYA AND SONIA AND MASHA AND SPIKE at the Charing Cross Theatre, followed by THE GLASS MENAGERIE at the Arcola Theatre, portraying Jim O’Connor. This performance earned him a nomination for ‘Best Supporting Actor’ at the Off-West End Awards.
